Trivia:
On opening day, 28 May 1937, 32,000 cars crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, paying a toll of fifty cents; now, approaching its sixtieth birthday, the bridge carries approximately 110,000 cars per day, each paying a toll of three dollars.
